Top 10 Best Selling Digimon Cards on TCGPlayer – Week of 8/1/2022

Howdy! How are you doing? Happy August! (Salve Caesar!)

Let’s start to dive right into the currently best-selling cards today! I am currently screenshotting the information on Monday 8/1/2022 in the AM EST.

I am expecting the list to be very completely shaken up compared to last week, with the release of X Record with Alphamon Ouryuken most likely being the most sought after card. There may still be the special release Davis and MagnaAngemon and some Digital Hazard EX-02 Cards but this is the first time I’ve paid such close attention to the best selling list after a release so let’s hop into it!

Please note I am continuing to basically only show the best selling cards as singles. So no booster boxes, cases or special packs but if it’s a promo card I will add it. Those are basically the rules I’m continuing to play with.

10. Cool Boy (BT9-092)

MP: $3.25

9. Magnamon (BT8-038)

MP: $12.98 (-$1.13)

8. Davis Motomiya [BT3-093]

MP: $18.59 (-$0.59)

7. Okuwamon (P-075)

MP: $23.00

6. MagnaAngemon [BT1-060]

MP: $42.69 (-$0.20)

5. Beelzemon Blast Mode [EX2-074]

MP: $34.98 (+$1.48)

4. Garurumon (P-007)

MP: $13.90

3. WereGarurumon (P-008)

MP: $14.29 (+$0.35)

2. DeathXmon (BT9-112)

MP: $37.60

1. Alphamon: Ouryuken (BT9-111)

MP: $36.75

As expected, the two secret rares from the new box are the top selling, and of course Alpha(Chad)mon Ouryuken is the top seller right now. Both him and DeathXmon are selling for a more reasonable price than I expected, however I was not expecting DeathXmon to be worth more than Alphamon Ouryuken.

What is slightly confusing me still is the Garurumons popping up in the top 10! I still don’t have 100% confirmation that it comes from a special dash pack from the Special Release Booster Boxes, but I do believe it’s for use in a Metalgarurumon X-Antibody deck. But these promos are hard to find as they’re promos and demand a steep price for what they are.

Davis, MagnaAngemon, Beelzemon Blast Mode I’d expect to stay in the top 10 for a bit longer, especially since Beelzemon has just had an “advanced” deck announced for later this year in Japan. Magnamon I think would be in the top 20, as Magnamon X might overtake his position, but it’s still a very high demand card regardless.

The Cool Boy card is apparently a very useful card in Alphamon decks, I don’t know how his effect works, but I hear he runs well in that deck and is likely why he’s selling so well at this moment.

Lastly, the Okuwamon promo which I see all the time as being the ultimate that helps make a GrandisKuwagamon deck, which seems to be the best Green deck available starting this set, an absolute monster. So monstrous, there’s not even a photo available at this time. But I know for a FACT these guys are only found in the update packs of X Record boxes and it’s one of six possibilities. And right now, there’s only eight listings! (Yikes)

As usual, all the X Record Set cards, which are only really 3 in this list, should reduce in price after the first week a large amount. And likely go down a good percentage further until they stabilize at some approximate market price. So if you want to sell, sell what you got while you got ‘em!

Thanks for reading, which of these cards is your favorite? Were these what you expected? What do you think will happen next week?

Godspeed,

Colossicus
