Top 10 Best-Selling Digimon Cards on TCGPlayer Week of 8/28/2022

Howdy! How are you doing this week? I am once again diving into the top 10 best-selling Digimon Cards on TCGPlayer of the Week of August 28, 2022.

If you would like to visit last week’s post, please visit here.

Let’s start to dive right into the currently best-selling cards today! I am recording the information on Thursday 9/1/2022 in the early morning EST.

I am expecting the list to be just about the same as last few weeks, with X Record now circulating for over a month and we are quite a bit away from new sets being released. There has recently been a ban list put in place, but I think that may only affect Alphamon: Ouryuken.

Please note, I am continuing to basically only show the best selling cards as singles. So no booster boxes, cases or special packs but if it’s a promo card I will add it. Those are the rules I’m continuing to play with.

Analysis

So first thing to note is that we have mostly new additions and some losses. The Okuwamon promo has fallen out of the Top 10, to my surprise. Omnimon Zwart Defeat has kind of come out of nowhere, and its price has been nearly halved of what it was when I was looking around for it 3 months ago. Lucemon: Chaos Mode has bounced back into the Top 10. He’s been in and out every now and then as the preferred secret rare from Next Adventure. Gallantmon Crimson Mode has snuck his way back into the Top 10, as apparently the most sought after card from Digital Hazard.

And most interestingly enough, WereGarurumon had fallen out of the Top 10, only to fling up into 6th place since I last recorded the details. It was somewhere in the Top 20, but still a jump of about 10 places just shows the incredible demand for this card right now.

Davis has rose 1 place since last recorded. He is one of the most sought after cards of the release special booster and continues to pop up in the Top 10 Best Selling Digimon Cards for weeks at a time on TCGPlayer.

MagnaAngemon had risen ten whole dollars last time we recorded his price and placement. It’s now fallen about $4 but rose 2 places on the best-selling list. Perhaps its supply is starting to meet its demand a bit.

Cool Boy continues to stick around at 5th place, as it did last week. Considering its utility in the major Alphamon and DeathXmon decks, I’d wager it’ll continue to be here for a few weeks.

Alphamon Ouryuken has not only dropped nearly $10 in price, apparently from a ban, but it’s been overshadowed by the MetalGreymon Alterous Mode Promo Card! It’s fortunate for those who are in the need of the card, still, but supposedly more than one or two will not be needed now in decks or collections. I expect it to continue to reduce price due to this, but we shall see.

I am not as shocked as last week, but still a little surprised that the MetalGreymon: Alterous Mode Promo has overtaken Alphamon Ouryuken since blowing up in price and rank last week. Being now the second best-selling card on TCGPlayer was not something I found many people foreseeing before the X Record Box came out.

In unchanging news, DeathXmon is the Best Selling Card on TCGPlayer.com for the past week. And it’s also still around $60. Come back next week when it will still be the number 1 card and still around $60.
